Samaritan Medical Center - Women’s Wellness & Breast Care Center

Client: Samaritan Medical Center | Location: Watertown, NY  | Completion Date: 2019  | Services Provided: Architectural, Engineering (Structural & Civil), Land Surveying 

Samaritan Medical Center was awarded $9.8 million in grant funding from the NYS Healthcare Facility Transformation award to transform 33,350 sf of its 91,000 sf Medical Office Building on outer Washington Street into a new outpatient Comprehensive Healthcare Center. It expands upon the multitude of outpatient medical services offered at the plaza location.   Those services include Woman to Woman, gynecology, obstetrics, breast health and related radiology, stereotactic and testing services, which are currently housed in various locations around the community. Additionally, this will provide space for Samaritan to grow new wellness, prevention and education programs. The project also includes a new entry lobby facade, 4 acres of parking lot reconstruction, 1.1 acre parking lot expansion, stormwater management, water and sewer upgrades and utility infrastructure upgrades to accommodate the new services at the 19 acre plaza property.

Aubertine and Currier was primarily responsible for the following Professional Services:

  • Schematic Design Phase: The Site Plan, Coordination of Engineers and Consultants, and Reviewing SD with Applicable Agencies
  • Design Development Phase: The Site Plan, Coordination of Engineers and Consultants, and reviewing DD Docs with Applicable Agencies
  • Contract Documents Phase: Owner Meetings, Preparation of Contract Documents, Construction Drawings, Fire Safety Drawings, Finish Schedule, Specifications, Overall Coordination of Contract Documents, Coordination of Engineers and Consultants. Review CD's with Applicable Agencies, and Presentation of CD's to Owner
  • Bidding Phase: Project Management, Distribution of Documents, Preparation of Addenda, and Processing of RFI’s during Bidding
  • Construction Phase: Coordination of Engineers and Consultants, Architectural Construction Observation, Drawing Checking and Approval, Supplementary Instructions, Proposal Requests, Review Change Orders, Process Payment Certificates, Substantial Completion Inspection, and Final Completion Inspection
  • Shared services between A&C and S/L/A/M Architects & Engineers P.C. include:
  • Pre-Design and Program Verification Phase: Project Management, Attend Owner Meetings, Analysis of Program Requirements (Program Analysis, Space Requirements/Relationships, Conceptual Plans/Stacking Diagrams), and Presentation of Pre-Design to Owner
  • Schematic Design Phase: Project Management, Attend Owner Meetings, Building Code Analysis, Develop Building Design, and Selection of Major Building Materials
  • Preparation of Schematic Design Docs: Floor Plans, Roof Plans, Elevations & Wall Sections, Study Models, Outline Specifications, Coordination of Engineers and Consultants, Coordination of Renderings, Coordination of Completed SD Documents, Construction Cost Estimate, and Presentation of Schematic Design to Owner
  • Design Development Phase: Project Management, Owner Meetings, Develop Building Design, Selection of Major Building Materials, Selection of Interior Finishes and Colors, Establishment of AutoDesk Revit Model, Preparation of Design Development Docs (Site Plan, Floor Plans, Roof Plans, Elevations & Wall Sections, Finish Schedule, Specifications, Fire Safety Plans), Coordination of Renderings and Models, Coordination of Completed DD Documents, and Presentation of Design Development to Owner
