Hospice of Jefferson County
Location: Watertown, New York | Completion Date: 2012 | Services Provided: Architectural, Civil/Site & Structural Engineering, Land Surveying
This project involved the design and construction of a 19,233 sf combined residential center and administrative office for Hospice of Jefferson County. The residential center is the first of its kind in the North Country and a welcome addition to the Hospice of Jefferson County organization.
Emphasizing residents and their stay was the main factor taken into consideration while designing the building. The facility is situated on a picturesque plot of land, and the residential rooms and community rooms were given priority when designing for the views. The design and layout of the facility maintains a functional working environment for the employees, yet a home-like atmosphere for the comfort of the residents.
The facility offers a residential scale exterior appearance and secured main lobby with access system allowing 24 hour monitored access to the residential wing. The administrative wing houses private offices, nurses/social worker kiosks, a conference room, community room, break area, and data and copy room. The residential wing of the facility houses eight patient rooms, a nurse’s station, secure medical storage, equipment wash room, bathing room with hair dressing station, family restrooms with shower, a kitchen and great room.
