Southwick Beach Park

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, & Historic Preservation (NYSOPRHP) Southwick Beach State Park is know for outstanding swimming and sunning on its long sandy beach. The Park is adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area, home to the environmentally-sensitive coastal sand dunes.

In 2015, Aubertine and Currier (A&C) was engaged by Beardsley Design Associates (BDA) to perform a topographic survey of approximately 8.3 acres of the Park’s existing concession building, approximately 3.3 acres of the campground area. The project included the following survey services:

·The location of visible evidence of underground and overhead utilities.

·The provision of rim and invert elevations of manhole structures, catch basins, culverts, water valve pits, etc.

·The location of improvements on the site, including parking lots, driveways, signs, posts, campsites, etc.

·The location of both edges and centerline of roads.

·The location and identification of trees 6” in diameter and larger.

·The location of flood plain and flood level of adjacent bodies of water through other sources.

In 2017 A&C was engaged again by BDA to perform a topographic survey of approximately 4 acres northeast of the concession building which included the same survey services performed for the 2015 project.

A&C was then again engaged by BDA to validate a previously surveyed beach area that had been damaged by flooding in Spring 2017. This

A&C prepared a topographic survey map showing the topographic information, and included available aerial photography as a reference file. BDA was supplied with an AutoCAD 2013 survey drawing along with 2 NYS Licensed Professional Land Surveyor stamped and signed survey prints.

Wellesley Island State Park, Topographic Survey - D Area Toilet/Shower Facility

Aubertine and Currier performed a topographic survey of an approximate 200ft radius around the existing D-Area toilet/shower building and approximately 400ft of sewage outfall trail to the St. Lawrence River. All improvements and natural features within the survey area were identified along with aboveground evidence of underground utilities.

Kring Point State Park, Topographic Survey - Marine Dredging and Dock Installation

Aubertine and Currier completed a topographic survey of the bay and surrounding area located in the Kring Point State Park in Redwood, NY. The topographic survey produced a base map for future marine dredging and dock design and included locating the bottom of the bay, and the above ground evidence of utilities and individual trees and outline of large tree clusters.

Westcott Beach State Park, Boundary and Topographic Survey - Sewer Replacement

Aubertine and Currier surveyed 5,700 linear feet of boundary along the south and westerly portion of the plateau area, and a topographic survey of approximately 22 acres of the plateau for the sewer replacement project.

Wellesley Island State Park, Topographic Survey - New RV Trailer Dumping System

Aubertine and Currier completed a topographic survey of approximately 7.5 acres of land within the Wellesley Island State Park Facility for the design and construction of a new RV trailer dumping station and for the installation of a new water-main. All improvements and natural features within the survey area were identified along with aboveground evidence of underground utilities.

Cumberland Bay State Park, Boundary and Topographic Survey

Aubertine and Currier completed a topographic survey and boundary survey of approximately 15 acres of land within the Cumberland Bay State Park property for the design and installation of 2 new comfort stations, and related utility re-configuration. The survey also required locating the current elevation of the abutting Lake Champlain’s shoreline to reference the project’s vertical datum to the mean water elevation.
