Town of Greig Highway Garage

Aubertine and Currier Architects, Engineers & Land Surveyors, PLLC was contracted to provide Architectural, Structural, Civil and Site Engineering design, construction documents, and bidding services for a new 8,400 sf town Highway Garage. Aubertine and Currier was also contracted to provide construction management services for the $995,000 project.
Design elements included site investigation, topographic surveys, technical specifications, design analyses, cost estimating, interior design, and coordination of geotechnical reports. A conceptual site and floor plan was created while working with the Town to accomplish the project according to their expectations. This included layout of the building, roadways/driveways, parking lot, green space, landscape architecture, lighting plans, and water and sanitary layout. It was extremely important to use LEED principles in the design process, with the goal for optimal energy efficiency and savings.
The facility included:
·6 bay pre-engineered steel building
·1,200 sf mezzanine area with office space, breakrooms, locker area with restrooms
·Insulated wall panel system
·Energy efficient roof insulation system
·Standing seam metal roof
·Highland oil-water separator and holding tank
·Gas fired unit heaters
·Heat recovery ventilation system for humidity control in conjunction with a carbon monoxide detection system
·Emergency generator system.
Civil/Site Engineering services included the design of water, propane gas and electrical services, parking lot, site drainage, on-site septic system, and site lighting.
Aubertine and Currier managed the public bidding process. Bidding services included the distribution of construction documents to contractors, written addenda and interpretations and clarifications on the drawings and specifications for the contractors, collection of bids and assisting the owner with the selection of the most qualified bidder, and development of the final owner/contractor agreement. Construction phase services included shop drawing review, design during construction, commissioning, inspection, and processing of contractor payment applications.
