SUNY Canton Payson Hall North - Site Walks, Stairs & Retaining Wall Replacement

Aubertine and Currier was contracted by SUNY Canton to complete the survey, design and development of construction documents, and provide construction administration services for site improvements to the pedestrian area along the north end of Payson Hall. Site improvements included construction of brick paver walkways and patio areas, granite tread overlays of existing concrete stairways, and replacement of stone veneer along the faces of existing concrete/stone retaining walls.
Preliminary services included topographic survey mapping and site visit to examine existing site conditions and obtain project related background information from SUNY Canton personnel and establishment of a project timeline.
Design/Construction document development included the design and development of preliminary plans and cost estimates to submit to SUNY Canton for verification of project scope. Final design and construction plans were developed to include; removal of existing concrete and brick paver walkways, construction of brick paver walkways and patio areas, reconstruction and regrading of an asphalt access drive, replacement of stone veneer along the face of multiple concrete retaining walls, granite tread overlay of existing concrete stairways, replacement of stairway railings, replacement of site light fixtures, installation of two 18 bike capacity galvanized steel bike racks, grading and drainage design for sheet flow drainage, and reconstruction of adjacent lawn area. Site and Structural/Architectural Details were included for all aspects of construction. Technical Specifications were developed in MasterSpec format and the Final Plans and Specifications were delivered to SUNY Canton for bidding. Construction Administration will be provided during construction.
