Aubertine and Currier provided Architectural, Structural Engineering and Environmental Services for the renovation of approximately 6,600 sf, an Adaptive Reuse project within SUNY Canton’s Dana Hall. The project will include converting former locker/shower rooms and pool area into student/facility office space. The former locker/shower rooms to be renovated into a conference room utilized for program settings and discussions, as well as, the construction of a new corridor linking the existing main lobby to the new Student Service Center. Aubertine and Currier’s services will also include Civil Engineering, HVAC and Electrical design.
The former Pool Area was to be converted into a Student Services Center with cubicles for the administration staff. The project area was sampled for hazardous materials and the Asbestos Abatement Plan identified the areas in which material was to be removed prior to the start of the general construction. Outdated electrical components to be replaced, as well as, hollow metal doors and frames were painted, and site work design included the installation of a new accessible concrete sidewalk along the eastern side of the building.
