Town of Adams - Highway Maintenance Facility & Salt Storage Building

Complete Architectural and Engineering design, construction documents, bidding, and construction management services were provided for a 13,000 sf maintenance garage facility, a 9,000 sf salt storage and cold storage building, and civil/site design. Aubertine and Currier performed Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design services for both buildings, and all Civil/Site design. Design elements included site investigation, topographic surveys, cold weather design, preparation of contract drawings, technical specifications, design analyses, cost estimating, interior design, and coordination of geotechnical reports.
Construction phase services included shop drawing review, design during construction, commissioning, inspection and processing of contractor payment applications.
The maintenance garage facility included the following: pre-engineered steel building; insulated wall panel system; energy efficient roof insulation system and standing seam metal roof; dual-alternating boiler system with in-floor radiant heating; heat recovery ventilation system for humidity control in conjunction with a carbon monoxide detection system; and emergency generator system. Interior design elements included highway superintendent offices, break room and locker/restrooms.
The salt storage and cold storage building included the following: access design to accommodate an 18-wheel dump truck; corrosion resistant concrete retaining wall design with bituminous coating for salt storage; galvanized pre-engineered steel frame.
Overall site design included a Town road extension, water line, natural gas and electrical service extension to the site; parking lot; site drainage; on-site septic system; site lighting; and truck fueling system.
