St. Mary’s Church - Rectory Parking Lot Restoration

Aubertine and Currier was contracted by St. Mary’s Catholic Church to provide the civil engineering and site design services for a +/- 13,250 sf reconstruction of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rectory Parking Lot and Drive. Project design included replacing the existing gravel and lawn area parking lot with a 31 space, 9,950 sf, asphalt parking lot and reconstructing the adjacent 3,300 sf asphalt rectory drive.
Preliminary services included topographic survey mapping, a site visit to examine existing site conditions and obtaining project related background information from St. Mary’s personnel, and establishment of a project timeline. Parking lot reconstruction was being completed to provide additional parking and improve accessibility to the church.
Design/Construction document development included the design and development of preliminary plans to submit to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for verification of project scope. Final design and construction plans were developed to include; areas of full depth asphalt reconstruction, grading and drainage design for sheet flow drainage, municipal sidewalk reconstruction, increased ADA accessibility, signage, bollard and chain access control, and replacement of site lighting. Details were included for the driveway and parking lot pavement and base, seeding and site restoration details, and site lighting details. Project design services included NYS DOT highway permitting for the improvements to the entrance drives and walks within the state owned right of way.
Design was completed in January and February 2015, bidding occurred in April, with construction completed in May 2015.
