Samaritan Medical Center - Secondary Loading Dock and Purchasing Office

The Samaritan Medical Center (SMC) Secondary Loading Dock Project consisted of the planning and design of the site and building improvements located at the south side of SMC connecting to former Pratt Street, close to the intersection at Centennial Drive. Aubertine and Currier (A&C) provided a full range of Design and Construction Administration services for this project, utilizing the Architecture, Structural Engineering, Civil/Site Engineering, and Land Surveying departments.
The Survey Services for the project included the implementation of a boundary survey of the 4.5 acre - 1010 Washington Street parcel formerly owned by Centennial Apartments, preparation of a boundary survey map of the northern portion of the property, the performance of a topographic/planimetric/utility survey of a 1.8 acre portion of SMC’s property and adjacent Centennial Ave, and the preparation of the topographic/planimetric/utility survey map.
A&C’s Civil/Site Engineering department designed site plans for the 32,000 sf of improvements and reconfiguration to the Pratt Street drive and parking lots. The loading dock was relocated and designed to create 2-tractor trailer docks accepting all hospital shipping and receiving. The relocation was critical and necessary prior to an upcoming 2018 hospital addition. Site design elements included reconfiguration of 3-parking lots, 2,300 sf of heated concrete loading docks, water main relocation, electric primary and communication duct banks, retaining wall, site lighting and landscaping.
Architectural and Structural design services included Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document preparation, Bidding Services, Construction Administration, and Part-Time Inspection Services. Building design included abatement of a 640 sf loading dock addition, 1,700 sf of Purchasing Department renovations, and 1,200 sf of receiving area storage renovations.
