Client: Chugach Industries | Location: Fort Drum, New York | Completion Date: 2008 | Services Provided: Land Surveying

Aubertine & Currier managed and coordinated the topographic survey of approximately 7 acres on Fort Drum, NY with Chugach Industries, Inc. for the design-build of a $1,500,800 IED (Improvised Explosive Device) training facility to increase war fighting training and to improve soldier readiness in defeating IEDs. The topographic survey information included elevations, grade breaks, ditches, natural drainage and the location of all roads, structures, utilities, buildings and fences on or adjacent to the site. Also coordinated and performed all construction layout for the new training lanes, parking area, site grading and the storm water retention ponds on the site that simulates real world conditions soldiers will encounter on the battlefield. All mapping was done to conform to Fort Drum standards and is tied into the North American Datum of 1983 (NED83) and the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAD88)
