Greater Binghamton Regional Airport
Client: Greater Binghamton Regional Airport | Location: Johnson City, New York | Completion Date: 2017 | Services Provided: Land Surveying
The Greater Binghamton Regional Airport completed an $11.9 Million project, requiring the removal of 7,300 foot of existing runway, and installing a completely new landing strip. The project was 90 percent funded by the Federal Government, 5 percent came from the State, with the remaining amount supplied through service fees.
Aubertine and Currier Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors, PLLC assisted L&T Construction in the building of the runway, working hand in hand with the site contractor to provide Professional Land Surveying Services. The undertaking was approximately a month long, requiring an Aubertine and Currier field crew and manager to stay on-site 24/7 during the duration of the assignment. The majority of time spent on the job was performing construction layout and verifying the runway surface elevation which were constructed to a very tight specification in order to ensure the requirements of the project were successfully met. The Aubertine and Currier personnel made themselves available at all times to L&T Construction during the entire venture.
The completion of the new runway will make it possible for Binghamton Regional Airport to provide supplementary services, and to attract additional airlines.
