Location: Lowville, New York | Completion Date: 2013 | Services Provided: Architectural & Structural Engineering
Aubertine and Currier Architects, Engineers & Land Surveyors, PLLC developed a restoration plan for the old Village of Lowville office building located at 5402 Dayan Street. The renovations transformed the historical brick building into a modern medical arts facility. Renovations modernized the basement, first and second floors, as well as provided a new stair tower with elevator and the replication of the original front porch that was torn down many years ago.
The basement level will house a medical lab, a physical therapy group, and a diabetes education office. The first level will contain a family healthcare practice with 13 examination rooms, a business manager’s office, two offices for the Doctors, and a nurse’s station. The third floor will house additional exam rooms as well as a dental clinic.
Aubertine and Currier coordinated the space programming with the Owner, as well as worked with Purcell Construction throughout the design development phase and construction. Services also included evaluation and modifications to the existing structure as well as coordination for testing and abatement of existing hazardous materials. The building was completely gutted and new energy efficient utilities installed with spray foam insulation to provide an air tight, high R value exterior building envelope.
