SUNY Cortland Site Lighting

SUNY Cortland is a public institution that was founded in 1868. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 6,304, its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 191 acres.

Aubertine and Currier, PLLC completed a topographic survey of approximately 90 acres of the SUNY Cortland site associated with a major Site Lighting Improvements project.

The project consisted of surveying and mapping all existing features within the required survey limits, including the roads, parking lots, buildings, sidewalks, curbs, trees and canopy's, manhole structures, catch basins, culverts, light poles, above ground utilities, and visible evidence of underground utilities.

A&C located the various utilities and structures located within the project limits to a Utility Quality Level C. The extent of the utility location was the same as the topographic survey limits. A&C coordinated with the College to obtain any available mapping of utility locations to be employed in the determination of the approximate location of utilities, the measuring to determine the size of pipe and elevation of underground storm and sanitary inverts, the notation of storm and sanitary pipe types and flow direction, and the integration of any utility record plans, sketches, or GIS data from the College that may be available.

A&C prepared a tax map quality property line and right-of-way file. The property line and right-of-way file contained the approximate location of the right-of-way and parcel side lines, as well as the parcel owner’s name(s) and the county designated tax parcel number. The location of all property lines and right-of-way was based upon Real Property Tax Mapping files.

A&C prepared a topographic survey map showing the topographic information at 1 foot contours, along with all improvements at an appropriate scale. All mapping was delivered in AutoCAD 2017 format and conform to AEC standard symbols, abbreviations, and layering standards.
